Breathing exercises are a powerful way to quickly and effectively improve your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. They are done by controlling your breathing and there are many forms.

One easy breathing exercise that can be done anytime is a type of cleansing breath, which can improve your energy and overall wellbeing. With a tall and upright spine, in a sitting or standing position, inhale deeply through your nose expanding the entire chest and belly area. To exhale, pucker your lips, as if to whistle, and begin to actively push the air out through the mouth in small bursts, without puffing out your cheeks, until all of the air is fully expelled. Push as much air out as you can with your final effort, where the chest and abdomen will flatten and contract toward your insides.

It will sound something like this: (sample breath).

Return to a few regular breaths before repeating again. If this feels uncomfortable for any reason, you can simply breathe out slowly through the mouth, squeezing out as much of the air as you can on each exhale.
