Proper hydration is essential for the optimal function of your body and brain. And the best way to hydrate is with pure, high-quality water.
A properly hydrated body is better able to cope with the daily physical and psychological stresses. Adequate hydration improves your digestion and supports regular elimination. It optimizes the proper functioning of your organs, especially the liver and kidneys. It improves cleansing and detoxification and reduces the risk of kidney stones. It supports healthy blood pressure, skin health, and mobility by lubricating joints and tissues. It helps ward off infections and supports optimal immune function. Consuming ample water each day can also help you lose weight and maintain optimal weight, and prevent or relieve headaches.
Aim to drink about 64 ounces or half a gallon of water per day, in small quantities throughout the day. If you’d like to flavor your water, use freshly squeezed citrus juice, or create your own fresh fruit or vegetable water infusions. Be sure to avoid artificial water-flavoring products and pre-flavored water.
Note that juice, soda, tea, coffee, milk, or alcohol cannot take the place of water and these substances usually require that we drink more water to offset their effects.
